House approves $300,000 appropriation from CETA dividends for 1st Senatorial District

The House adopted Conference Committee Report No. 24-4 and passed House Bill 24-91 HS1 SD1 CCS1, appropriating $300,000 of dividends identified by the Commonwealth Economic Development Authority (CETA) from the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation for super-typhoon relief operations and personnel in the 1st Senatorial District.
Representative John Paul Sablan, chair of the house conferees, said the House acted to restore the original intent and reached a compromise with the Senate. Representative Julie Ogo, speaking for municipality leaders of Rota, thanked conferees for the compromise and urged members to support the bill.
Clerk-recorded roll call showed all present members voting yes; the Speaker declared conference committee report 24-4 adopted. The record includes conferees' statements that some funds or uses could be subject to later administrative approval or allocation by the receiving authority.
