UEA approves routine minutes, claims, financials and several small grants

A staff member told the board she had circulated a revised claims document that included payment to Databank for digitizing files; the board approved the claims document by motion and voice vote.
The board then approved the month’s financial statements after staff noted the statement of cash flows needs additional QuickBooks reconciliation and that one encumbered grant balance (carried from the prior year) required attention. The chair and staff clarified that some encumbered funds related to previously completed park gates work on Truesdale.
The UEA approved a $4,500 community enhancement grant to Kiwanis to help cover Fourth of July parade expenses. The board also approved a grant request from Culver’s for patio improvements on Pine Lake Avenue (the applicant sought roughly $5,194); members noted franchise requirements for contractors but approved the request by voice vote.
Finally, the board approved a bid for painting benches and trash receptacles on Lincoln Way. A quote from Motheal Property Services was cited at about $5,300 and the board authorized up to $5,500 to complete the work in time for July 4.
All routine approvals were taken by motion and voice vote (no roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript).
