Lake maintenance update: compressor noise reduced but tone, Edgewater plantings remain under review

At the July 23 River Ridge CDD meeting, Premier Lakes reported seasonal algae, maintenance activity and a partial noise fix for the Masters Lake aerator, but the Board left planting and equipment relocation decisions for future meetings.
Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes said a cabinet installed around the Masters Lake compressor has reduced sound from 64 to 52 decibels at a midpoint between the compressor and the screen line and described that reduction as acceptable in his view. Operations Manager Shane Willis said the remaining issue is the tone of the aerator rather than the decibel level and suggested moving the compressor as a possible mitigation.
The Board discussed easement constraints and agreed Mr. Willis would coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth on potential relocation and report findings at the next meeting. Mr. Schultz summarized Edgewater concerns — including flooding, installing piping, littorals for Lake E-4A and rip-rap — and recommended a meeting with Tim Wilkin from Edgewater to seek an acceptable solution. The consensus was to avoid planting Canna lilies; staff will place plantings for Lake E4-A on hold and resubmit proposals once an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association.
Separately, Mr. Willis presented the Annual Quality Assurance Audit for lake maintenance and dry retention, reporting generally improved conditions, high water levels this season, no compliance issues in dry retention areas, and a plan to perform next year’s audit earlier.
