Mr. Irvin explained that classic Chromebooks are increasing in cost and that the district made an early purchase to avoid higher prices; he said the remaining balance in the block grant is approximately $62,000 and that staff will spend the funds on PD and Chromebook purchases before the expenditure window closes. "The remaining balance is $62,000 and will be spent," Irvin said, and trustees recorded a voice vote approving the plan.
The board directed staff to ensure purchases meet the grant’s compliance rules and to report back on final expenditures. The changes were recorded as revisions to the discrete discretionary block-grant plan and were approved by voice vote.
