Nicole Morency, the library director, reviewed her monthly report at the Feb. 3 meeting. She told trustees the Cook‑A‑Book gathering had nine members and that a donor provided a set of dishes and flatware for the club’s use; trustees voted to accept the donation. Nicole reported two new registered patrons, 99 visits to the library website and 133 in‑library patrons for January.
Trustees discussed ways to publicize upcoming events, including producing a 4–6 week calendar, emailing the elementary school for inclusion in group mailings, and reposting information to the Town Office bulletin board, the Barn Store and — with permission — the HUB in Andover.
On appointments, guest Lisa Lawrence said she is interested in serving as an alternate trustee. Michelle Carr explained the selection process: the Trustee Board Chair would submit a letter to the Selectmen requesting a one‑year alternate appointment, the candidate would need to attend the Selectmen’s meeting, and would then take an oath of office with the Town Clerk if appointed.
Michelle also distributed the NHLTA legislative update and highlighted HB 1214, which the board said they would forward to interested parties; Nan O’Neill noted State Representative Louise Andrus is a co‑sponsor. Trustees did not take a formal position on the bill at this meeting.
The Director said she would email pass-usage tallies to the Friends of the Library and provide a wish list for passes after discussing options with trustees. Michelle said she would investigate a corrupted or locked copy of the Collection and Development policy on the library website and arrange for a replacement copy if needed.
The board set a special meeting for Feb. 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. and scheduled the next regular meeting for March 3, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
