Kossuth County supervisors approve FY2026-27 appointments and salaries, adopt payroll resolution

The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors on June 30 approved appointments and salaries for fiscal year 2026-27 and adopted a resolution authorizing payroll warrants under Section 309.61 of the Code of Iowa.

Supervisor Howard Haas moved to approve the FY2026-27 appointments and salaries; Supervisor Kyle Stecker seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board also voted to adopt Resolution 06-30-26-01, which authorizes the county auditor to draw warrants for day-labor payrolls when those payrolls are certified by the engineer and later passed by the board. The resolution was declared adopted on June 30, 2026.

The personnel approvals list annual and hourly compensation across county offices. Each supervisor’s annual salary is listed at $44,692.27. The county auditor, Tammy Eden, is listed at $87,216.01. The county engineer position (Doug Miller, P.E. & P.L.S.) is listed at $156,270.40. Other named annual salaries recorded in the approved schedule include the county sheriff (Roger Fisher) at $126,808.13 and EMS administrator Philip Albers at $93,696.00; many deputy and clerical positions and hourly rates were recorded in the same resolution and pay schedule.

Motion to approve the agenda and minutes from the prior meeting, and subsequent motions to approve claims and drainage claims, were likewise recorded as carried unanimously earlier in the session. The board acknowledged the Budget Status Report during the meeting.

The board’s adoption of Resolution 06-30-26-01 cites Section 309.61 of the Code of Iowa and directs that labor payrolls certified by the engineer be paid by warrant and presented to the board at its next meeting. The motion to adopt the resolution was recorded in the minutes; no roll-call objections were recorded.
