Recreation Coordinator Amanda Pelissier told the Sanbornton Recreation Commission on Feb. 10 that Day Camp enrollment has increased after outreach by Recreation Assistant Mindy DeFosse, and that staff are exploring alternatives to a planned Stone Zoo trip.
Pelissier said she will contact Vertical Entertainment to reserve inflatables for the last week of camp. She also reported on a 3rd/4th grade basketball jamboree held Feb. 7 that generated $1,300 in admissions and incurred $750 in officials' fees; $550 remained and was used for concessions purchased throughout the season.
Pelissier described plans for two Easter events to be held on the field by the town offices and library; First Baptist Church will again help with stuffing eggs. On Town Park, Pelissier said the Town Park Committee has postponed meetings until summer. She said the capital-reserve article for Town Meeting is ready and that she is putting final touches on a grant proposal for a snack shack, but that there were no updates regarding electrical work.
Chair Jax Riendeau suggested creating a dedicated Town Park calendar that would capture grant milestones, work schedules and events and encouraged Pelissier to update the Town Park section of the town website; Pelissier said she would explore those steps.
The Commission did not receive any public comment at the meeting.
