• 9106 Madge Avenue sewer lateral reconnection: Staff recommended abandoning the irregular existing lateral that crosses the tree lawn and connecting the property to the MSD sanitary trunk on the south side of Madge Avenue. Committee approved the recommendation and advised the homeowner to apply for the city’s sewer lateral grant; the homeowner remains responsible for grant application and any non-covered costs.
• 8829 Russell Avenue retaining wall: Staff presented two options from JE Novack (a Sourcewell contractor): a concrete-block wall estimated at $33,205.60 and a basic poured concrete option at $17,283.21, with optional colored concrete ($4,900) and form liner ($4,200) additions. The committee approved staff’s recommendation to proceed with the poured concrete wall option; the property owner declined to contribute financially.
• Switch Together participation: The committee approved joining the Switch Together solar-buying program (see separate item) after a staff presentation and Sustainability Commission recommendation.
• MSD OMCI reimbursement for stormwater master plan: Committee approved an MSD OMCI contract to reimburse Brentwood up to $125,219 for the stormwater master plan, subject to submission of invoices and a completed MSD project agreement.
Votes were recorded as unanimous in committee. These motions were procedural approvals or contract acceptances rather than changes to substantive policy documents; each will require staff follow-up to implement the logistics or documentation required by outside parties (e.g., MSD or program partners).
