Selectboard approves appointment, tax items and schedules March 4 hearings

The Winchester Selectboard on Feb. 25 completed routine business including approvals of prior minutes, an appointment to the Conservation Commission and a pair of tax actions, and it scheduled two public hearings for March 4.
Selectman Jack Marsh moved to approve the Oath of Office for Ann Ryder as a full member of the Conservation Commission; Selectman Trevor Croteau seconded and the motion carried 5-0. Marsh moved and the board approved a timber tax for map 6 lot 31 in the amount of $5,013.44 (motion carried 5-0) and a tax abatement for map 30 lot 1 in the amount of $32.21 (motion carried 5-0).
At the start of new business Selectman Ben Kilanski announced the board will hold two public hearings on March 4: one on a Stormwater Asset Management Grant and another to review updates to the Transfer Station Ordinance. He also reminded the public that Rolling Thunder will present the Missing Table next week at Town Hall and that the Winchester Fire & Ambulance Department will hold an open house on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During public comment, Penny Vaine announced a Democratic Committee "Meet the Candidates" event on March 1 from 1–3 p.m. at Town Hall, and attendees were encouraged to attend other forthcoming community events. The board entered a brief nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3 II(c) by a recorded roll call and reconvened to public session within minutes; Selectman Stephens moved to adjourn at 7:22 p.m. and the motion carried 5-0.
