EPC celebrates 25 years of Clean Air Fair; organizers report record attendance

Michelle Jenkins, an EPC staffer in the air division, presented highlights from the 25th annual Clean Air Fair and said the event is an important public-outreach activity for Hillsborough County.
Jenkins said this year’s theme, "Stars and Stripes Forever, celebrating clean air together," marked the fair’s growth into a major Downtown Tampa event that reached more than 1,000 visitors and included more than 70 exhibitors. "This year reached an all time high, featuring more than 70 exhibitors," Jenkins said. The fair included live music, community exhibitors, giveaways, and an Arbor Day tree giveaway that distributed over 350 trees and saplings to attendees.
The presentation included a short video from Poe Plaza and testimonials from exhibitors and attendees who described the fair as an educational community gathering that connects residents to environmental resources and county departments. Jenkins thanked sponsors (including Tampa City Center, Tampa Downtown Hilton, Sprouts Farmers Market and Publix) and said the EPC plans to hold next year’s fair on May 6.
Commissioners applauded the outreach value of the fair, and staff said they will continue promoting the event as part of Clean Air Month activities.
