Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives board adopts revised conduct policy, approves three deaccessions

The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives Board of Directors approved a revised conduct policy and voted to remove three cataloged items from the collection during a noon meeting on June 8, 2026.
At the start of business, Marissa Newman, a board member, moved to approve the minutes from May 2026; board member Abby Peltomaa seconded and the motion carried.
Aubrey Jaap, Director, delivered the Director’s Report for June 2026; the board posed no questions during the report.
Under old business the board reviewed a clean version of its conduct policy that incorporated changes provided by Brian Holland. Marissa Newman moved to approve the conduct policy for the Archives/Chateau; John Conlan, a board member, seconded and the motion carried, adopting the updated policy.
In new business the board considered deaccessioning three items cataloged in 2026: 2026.028 (Red Cross Quilt), 2026.055 (Navy Uniforms) and 2026.064 (Mountaineers). Marissa Newman moved to deaccession the collections as presented; Abby Peltomaa seconded and the motion carried, approving removal of those items from the holdings.
Brian Holland was recorded as excused. The meeting was adjourned at 12:25 p.m.
The board did not record vote tallies or further discussion on implementation steps in the minutes for these actions.
