Crawford County supervisors approve wage changes, hire and two fund transfers; buy three pickup trucks

The Crawford County Board of Supervisors on June 30 approved routine minutes and several personnel and financial actions, including wage adjustments, a new hire, the purchase of three pickup trucks and two fund transfers.

The board approved wage increases for Zach Rasmussen, Emergency Management Coordinator, and Ryan Lode, IT Director. It also approved a corrected wage change for the Secondary Roads Bargaining Unit employees and the hiring of Shawn Hansen as a Maintenance Employee IV in the Engineer’s Office.

A motion by Rosburg, seconded by Schultz, to purchase three 2027 Ford F-250 trucks from Team Ford for $53,653.00 each — $160,959.00 total — passed unanimously. The minutes show the purchase was authorized but do not provide additional procurement details.

The board then approved two resolutions affecting county funds. Resolution 2026-25, moved by Heiden and seconded by Schultz, authorized a temporary operating transfer of $39,982.15 from the HCCMS Family Planning Fund #0040 to the General Basic Fund #0001 to cover Department #13 (HCCMS) expenses while grant reimbursements were delayed; the resolution cites Section 331.432 of the Code of Iowa. Later, a motion by Schultz, seconded by Rosburg, approved Resolution 2026-26 transferring $356,521.45 from the General Basic Fund (#0001) into the Community Health Fund (#0003). Both resolutions passed unanimously.
