The Minden City Council approved a set of personnel actions, including planning-commission appointments and multiple police and fire promotions.
On the planning commission, the council reappointed Morris Busby to a five-year term through July 2031 and appointed Juan Rangel (owner, Mosaic Flooring Company) to fill a vacant seat. Both actions were recommended by the building official and approved unanimously.
Public-safety personnel actions approved on the police chief’s and fire chief’s recommendations included promoting Sergeant Benjamin Sparks to lieutenant; promoting Matthew Hicks Jr. to sergeant; and promoting Jonna Traylor and Cody James to police officer 1st class. On the fire side, Wesley Vandino was promoted to battalion chief and Henry Ashley to fire captain. The council congratulated the promoted employees and approved each promotion by unanimous vote.
All personnel measures passed without debate and will take effect per departmental procedures.
