Township approves liquor and operator licenses and adopts procurement policy required for state grant

Chairperson Monica Zeller moved to accept two short-term rental applications (Boettcher’s on Grosbeck Lane and Check’s on Lonely Lane); the motion was seconded by Supervisor Chuck DeMoulin and approved.
The board approved 11 businesses’ 2024–25 liquor-license applications after Supervisor DeMoulin moved to accept the applications. Clerk Linda Ziegler noted that Lakehouse Winery does not need to apply to the town under state changes enacted in 2024.
There are 57 operator-license applications; Zeller moved to approve them and to grant a 30-day grace period to 19 people who held operator licenses in 2023–24 but had not yet submitted applications; the motion carried.
Zeller explained a Procurement Procedure Policy that governs contractor selection. Although the town follows state statutes for bidding, she said adopting this written policy is a condition of a state grant application; Supervisor Willie Evans moved to adopt the policy and the board approved it.
These actions will allow the town to meet the grant requirement and continue issuing licenses for the coming season.
