Tomahawk council adopts 2025 budget, levy and salary ordinances; approves police contract and solid-waste amendment

The City of Tomahawk Common Council unanimously adopted the 2025 Budget Adoption Ordinance (Ordinance 2024-04), an ordinance setting the levy amounts for tax year 2024 (collectable in 2025) as Ordinance 2024-05, and the 2025 Salary Ordinance as Ordinance 2024-06.
Councilmember Mickey Loka moved to adopt the proposed budget; Patricia Haskin seconded. The motions to adopt the levy and salary ordinances were similarly moved, seconded and passed by unanimous vote. The transcript records the ordinance numbers for the budget and levy and that all votes were unanimous; the record does not include line-item budget totals in the ordinance passages.
The council also approved the 2025–2027 agreement between the City of Tomahawk and the Tomahawk Professional Police Association by unanimous vote, and it approved a proposed amendment to the agreement with Republic Services for solid waste and recycling services. Earlier in the meeting the council approved financial disbursements: General Fund checks 116164–116250 and 13 electronic payments totaling $270,738.61; payroll checks 53216–53282 and direct deposits V14077–V14155 totaling $117,443.93; and Solid Waste Fund check 1963 for $65.43.
All votes recorded in the transcript were unanimous. The meeting closed with the council setting its next regular meeting for Jan. 7, 2025, and adjourning at 5:52 p.m.
