Walkersville planning staff circulated a state-provided model accessory-dwelling-unit (ADU) ordinance and a compliance assessment tool at the March 24 meeting and said the materials are agenda items for an April 14 planning commission workshop.
Alex (S3) said the model ordinance is a starting point and that some language will be adjusted locally. One commissioner noted a passage referencing a "75%" threshold that reads ambiguously in the model; staff said the model is flexible and will be discussed and edited at the workshop.
The commission confirmed the workshop date; staff said the state deadline for any local action tied to recent guidance had not changed as of the meeting.
