Greene County issues proclamations honoring recovery‑court graduates, meals and health observances
Summary
At its May 18 meeting the county presented proclamations honoring four Recovery Court graduates, designated June as Summer Meals Month, and declared National Men's Health Week (June 9–16). The mayor presented certificates recognizing student athletes and a retiring veterans officer.
Greene County leaders used the May 18 commission meeting to highlight local recovery and community service efforts and to present awards.
Mayor Kevin C. Morrison read and presented a series of proclamations recognizing members of the 3rd Judicial District Felony Recovery Court for completing the program and celebrating recipients Michael Wawerski, Brittany Carpenter, Ronnie Leach and Shane Fasnacht. The mayor also read proclamations designating May 10–16 as National Skilled Nursing Care Week and June 2026 as Summer Meals Month, calling attention to the county's nutrition programs that support children during summer school breaks.
The mayor presented a National Men's Health Week proclamation (June 9–16) to the community and presented a Summer Meals proclamation to Patricia Bohon, who was recognized for fundraising efforts supporting Hats for Hunger and summer feeding programs. Sgt. Bobby Charles McLain received a certificate recognizing his retirement from the Greene County Veterans Services Office after years of service.
The meeting packet also included certificates of recognition for regional student‑athlete honors and other community awards. The proclamations and certificates were ceremonial and intended to acknowledge community achievement and local service.
