The Springfield Planning Board opened a public hearing on proposed zoning amendments for Town Meeting 2026 at its Nov. 20 meeting. Chair Mike Howard opened the hearing; the agenda items listed for the hearing included Short-term Rentals, Solar Energy Systems, Accessory Dwelling Units and Class VI & Private Roads.
Board members discussed proposed changes to the short-term rental language and made edits by consensus but decided not to finalize the amendments that evening. Don Hill moved and Darrin Patten seconded a motion to continue the public hearing to Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.; the motion was approved unanimously. The board also deferred review of other zoning amendments for further consideration at the continued hearing.
The board did not adopt any zoning amendments at this meeting; work on proposed language will resume on Dec. 4.
