Voting members present were Trent Benzel (Vice Chairperson), Barbara Raben (Secretary), Jerry Underwood (voting member), Tonya Mayer (voting member) and Rich Smith (voting member). A quorum was recorded. Staff in attendance included Marissa Curtiss, Box Butte County Attorney; Michael Johnson, Box Butte Zoning Administrator; and Box Butte County Commissioner Michael Sautter.
The commission first approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Tonya Mayer seconded by Jerry Underwood; the vote was 5-0. Secretary Barbara Raben then moved to approve the April 21, 2025 minutes; Mayer seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
Under new business the commission completed its review of the draft Comprehensive Plan through page 32. Following that review, Raben moved that the Planning and Zoning Board advance a recommendation that the Box Butte County Board of Commissioners determine the terms and deadlines for vendors to submit requests for proposals for updated zoning regulations at the board's next regularly scheduled meeting. Tonya Mayer seconded the motion, which passed on a 5-0 vote.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Vice Chairperson Benzel, seconded by Rich Smith; the meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
