John Huff, a representative of MidAmerican Energy, updated the Clarinda City Council on June 24 about the Nodaway Valley Solar '50-Watt Mega' project planned northeast of Clarinda and said MidAmerican is looking to start the project in 2027. Huff announced a public meeting for residents at 4:00 p.m. on June 30 at the Clarinda Country Club to answer questions and hear concerns.
Huff said landowners in the area are supportive and that MidAmerican’s goal is to "do right by the citizens of Clarinda and Page County" according to the meeting minutes. The council recorded no formal action on the project during this meeting but staff and the company provided the public-notice date and location for the company-led meeting.
The update is informational; residents interested in details or project impacts were directed to the June 30 public meeting. The minutes do not include project maps, parcel information, or permitting timelines.
