Commission grants conditional-use permit to move 1947 cabin to Burnt Dam Road property

The Town of Townsend Comprehensive Planning Commission approved a conditional-use application on July 2, 2024, permitting Michael and Pamela Busch to move an existing cabin to 17092 E. Burnt Dam Road.
Pamela Busch told the commission the cabin is currently located on McCaslin Road and was stick-built in 1947. The plan is to move the structure onto the Busch property, place it on a basement with an egress window, and install a mound septic system. Staff found adequate public facilities to serve the proposed use and described the burdens on local government as reasonable. The minutes state the proposal agrees with the Town Vision Statement and the town goals, objectives and development strategies set out in the Town Comprehensive Plan.
Commissioner Dan DeMoulin moved to approve the conditional-use application; Commissioner Willie Evans seconded and the motion carried. The minutes do not record a roll-call tally for this vote.
Any required building permits, septic approvals and inspections must be obtained before occupancy.
