The Tomahawk Common Council on June 2 approved routine financial and licensing items, several summer events and the city’s proposed 2027 library budget.
Council approved General Fund checks 119005–119092 and electronic payments totaling $222,616.14, and payroll checks 53600–53615 and direct deposit V15820–V15901 totaling $105,626.83 after a motion by Will Garske and second by Patricia Haskin. The council voted unanimously on the payments.
Council also approved operator licenses (one applicant failed a background check and was excluded), alcohol and tobacco license renewals, and event permits including Tomahawk Music on the River (Wednesdays June 17–July 29), a citywide open‑intoxicants waiver for Pow Wow Day on July 4, and the Antique Outboard Motor Show (August 3–8). All motions were seconded and passed unanimously.
The council approved the 2027 proposed library budget and unanimously confirmed Jesse Amelse’s appointment to the Library Board on the mayor’s recommendation. (Transcript records the appointee’s name as Jessi Amelse.)
These approvals complete several routine administrative and event‑planning items needed for summer programming and library operations; the council set its next regular meeting for July 7, 2026.
