The Tomahawk Common Council on June 2 unanimously approved a developer agreement with S.C. Swiderski, LLC to build a 72‑unit apartment development on property east of the Rodeway Inn.
Roger Schlegel, chairman of the Community Development Authority, told the council the project “took 5 years to get this project to this point,” and said the approved plan calls for single‑story and two‑story buildings. He said construction is anticipated to begin in October.
Councilmember Patricia Haskin moved to approve the agreement and Councilmember Donald Nelson seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The agreement, as described to the council, covers project terms reached between the city and the developer and clears the way for the next permitting and site‑preparation steps.
The council did not elaborate on financing specifics, tax incentives or public subsidies during the meeting. Follow‑up items likely include permit applications and building‑permit reviews by city staff before any ground‑breaking can occur.
The council set no additional conditions on the record; the developer, S.C. Swiderski, LLC, will proceed with the steps required under the agreement and applicable city review processes.
