On May 26, 2026, the Warrensburg City Council awarded a contract to J.C. Myers Construction Co., Inc. for the 2026 Sidewalk Improvement Program and adopted Ordinance No. 6034. Public Works Director Adlich told council the city received four bids on May 8, 2026, and that J.C. Myers submitted the lowest responsive bid with a record of providing quality work for the city.
Adlich explained that quantities on the bid form were for bidding purposes and are not guaranteed; actual quantities will be measured during construction and the project manager will monitor expenses to keep the work within the $200,000 budget. He said prior years yielded about 2,500–3,000 linear feet of sidewalk and the city expects a similar result this year. Work will begin on College Street after the current curb and ADA project completes, and will include areas in Deerfield, Northfield and items requested via the See, Click and Fix system.
Council voted unanimously to pass the ordinance on second reading, and the ordinance was recorded as No. 6034.
