Sheriff Wesley Holt and department staff supported the allocations during the meeting; commissioners said the split responds to operational equipment needs while keeping the bulk of proceeds with special patrols operations.
Why it matters: Local law-enforcement units will use the funds for equipment and vehicles tied to patrols, courtroom security and the jail; the appropriation channels one-time sales proceeds to direct needs rather than to general reserves.
