West Stockbridge planning board adopts MGL c.30B finding to hire consultant, approves minutes

The West Stockbridge Planning Board on June 16 adopted a procurement finding to hire J Tab Consulting LLC for up to $10,000 and approved several sets of meeting minutes before adjourning at 7:19 p.m.
Chair Dana Bixby reported she arranged a June 19 meeting with David Schecker and said consultant Jennifer Tabakin will join that meeting. Bixby said Tabakin recommended a formal finding that the proposed professional services contract with J Tab Consulting LLC — in an amount not to exceed $10,000 — is exempt from formal quotation requirements under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30B, because the amount does not exceed the statutory threshold and because of the consultant’s qualifications and familiarity with ongoing planning projects.
The board formalized that finding by motion. The board recorded a motion to accept the finding (moved by Ryan Beattie, seconded by Jared Gelormino) and the motion passed with four affirmative votes: Dana Bixby, Ryan Beattie, Jared Gelormino and Christopher Tonini.
Before that vote the board handled its minutes: the April 21, 2026 minutes were rolled over to the next meeting; the board approved minutes from May 19, 2026 (motion: Jared Gelormino; second: Ryan Beattie; recorded as passed); the board approved minutes from June 2, 2026 (motion: Christopher Tonini; second: Jared Gelormino; passed 4-0) and approved minutes from June 11, 2026 (passed 4-0).
Bixby also reported she had spoken with Chris Powell, identified in the minutes as chair of AHT, who has information on Seasonal Communities Act grant funding that he will pursue further. The board confirmed upcoming meeting dates for Tuesday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 21.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:19 p.m. after a motion to adjourn (moved by Ryan Beattie, seconded by Jared Gelormino) that passed unanimously.
