Hoffman said his office discovered through a physical audit that trailers on two lots were gone and that the last recorded title activity for one parcel dated back to 10/12/2016 and for another to 06/30/2014. Because the structures no longer exist on the lots, Hoffman said the county cannot tax them and brought the resolutions to correct the tax rolls.
The board moved and seconded the resolutions and approved them by unanimous voice vote. Supervisors asked whether the county would send notices to park owners to improve future reporting; Hoffman replied the office had already communicated with park management and used prior attorney letters to gain compliance.
Actions recorded at the meeting: a resolution to remove $552 from the tax books for mobile-home parcel W300657G, a resolution canceling the county-held mobile-home tax sale certificate 221000 related to parcel 4641, and a resolution to re-date and place $654 back on the tax roll for parcel 4641.
