Keisha Lee sworn in as MSBA president, pledges advocacy for Missouri public schools

Keisha Lee of the Ledoux School District was sworn in as the 2026–27 president of the Missouri School Boards Association during the MSBA delegate assembly, the association reported during its July board report. In an acceptance speech Lee said the role is "a sacred trust" and pledged to serve with accountability, dignity and integrity on behalf of the state's more than 900,000 public school students.
Lee said she will prioritize organizing the association with accountability and supporting the district leaders she represents. She thanked members for their trust and underscored that public education advocacy is a central responsibility for the year ahead.
MSBA also announced state officers elected at the assembly, including president-elect Riley Hartwell of the Joplin School District and vice president Angie Reed of the Liberty 53 School District.
