Selectboard accepts Stephen LaFrance as volunteer road agent; spring regrade approved for Percy Road

Selectman Clayton Macdonald opened the Nov. 18 meeting and the board voted to accept resident Stephen LaFrance as a volunteer road agent to assist the town with road project review and oversight.
Mr. LaFrance told the board he was approached about serving as road agent but declined pay and said he prefers to work on a volunteer basis; the board approved his request. The board said that if LaFrance is unavailable they will call on town maintenance staff, including Ryan Yakis or another identified helper, to assist with road work.
The meeting included multiple maintenance updates. Staff member Suzanne Goulet reported Percy Road was graded in the spring and remained in good condition through the fall; the board approved regrading the road in the spring. Selectman Harry Juergens raised potholes around town and asked that maintenance staff fill them. Juergens also said the state repaved Route 3 but did not reinstall an apron at Central Cemetery; because the state has no permit on file the town will place gravel as an interim measure.
Selectman Charlie Goulet said he will help coordinate placement of gravel at Central Cemetery to ensure the driveway does not ice over and remains safe for visitors.
The board closed the item with routine procedural approvals and moved on to other administrative matters.
