At their Aug. 12, 2024 meeting the Town of Surry selectmen recorded several administrative actions: they accepted the minutes (motion by Jay Croteau, seconded by Steve Goldsmith), signed payroll and paid bills, and signed the Revised Estimated Revenues to be uploaded to the Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) portal.
The minutes state John Davis of the Surry Fire Department agreed to serve as the town Health Officer; the minutes also record John Davis agreeing to serve as pro tem for Selectman Ron Profaizer during an upcoming election in Profaizer’s absence. Wayne Hartz agreed to serve as moderator and the minutes note he needs to be sworn in.
The board logged permit activity and planning dates: Matt Goodwin dropped off a driveway permit for Conservation Committee review, plus a building permit for a barn with four copies of a septic plan; the Master Plan meeting was scheduled for Aug. 13, 2024. Greg Taylor asked about placing three storage containers on his lot; the selectmen said the containers are not prohibited by ordinance but would require a building permit and be treated as sheds. Supervisors of the Checklist requested website updates, and a new town notification email was posted to the website, Facebook and Recreation Committee email.
Jay Croteau moved to adjourn and Steve Goldsmith seconded; the meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M. The minutes do not record vote tallies for motions beyond noting agreement or second.
