Select Board hears town operations updates: baler malfunction, lead service inventory deadline and routine signings

At its Aug. 26 meeting the Stratford Select Board recorded several operational updates: a new Transfer Station baler is not performing correctly, the town must finish a lead water service inventory by Oct. 13, and routine manifests and documents were signed.
Charles Goulet said the Transfer Station baler has not been functioning properly and that attempts to adjust it were unsuccessful; the board agreed a more experienced advisor will inspect the equipment. Clayton Macdonald reported progress on the lead service line inventory and emphasized the inventory’s Oct. 13 completion deadline and next steps for compliance.
The board approved signing manifests for Aug. 13 and Aug. 19 (Macdonald/Juergens, 3–0). The minutes also list multiple signed reservations (Hollow Pavilion, Library Pavilion, Town Hall), a raffle permit for the Cohos Historical Society at the Library Pavilion, a letter releasing the Roland Baldwin fund grant, and building certificates for 938 US Route 3. In old business, the board noted the Coös ARPA funding closeout is complete and agreed to sell an old ATV (motion Macdonald/Juergens, 3–0).
