The Peru Board of Public Works held routine approvals during its June 16 meeting, advancing payments and permits that city staff had placed on the agenda.
The board approved payment of claims dated June 16 in the amount of $1,030,836.46 after a motion and second. The body also approved regular and monthly payroll dated June 12 totaling $272,382.69.
Separately, the board approved Schneider Electric's request to remove three trees on Schneider-owned property at 254 East 9th Street the week of June 29–30; staff noted two of the trees are close to the road and that contractors will try to minimize lane closures. The board also approved a one-day closure request for Preet Community Schools to remove six trees on Miami Street (covered in a separate article) and approved an application for an electrician's license for Braxton Burner after staff confirmed he passed the required exam.
Each motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records unanimous "Aye" responses following each motion and second. No roll-call tallies by individual member were recorded in the transcript.
