The Tamworth Road Study Committee approved its March 19, 2025 minutes, reviewed road-status reports for multiple local roads and agreed to publish the full reports on the town website while keeping a few paid hardcopies at town offices and the Cook Library, the committee said at its April 2 meeting.
Committee members accepted road-condition reports presented by Chris Conrod and Paul King, who each reviewed multiple stretch-by-stretch assessments and requested minor clarifications and references for mapping. Conrod asked that a reference to CCRD Plan 97/78 be added for Sanger Lot Road; King asked for a map to be added to the Route 113A entry and requested a correction to wording on Route 16 regarding its classification as a "State Class V highway." White Lake Class 3 roads were reported as OK.
The publication plan calls for posting spreadsheets as Excel files on the town website and providing a small number of color hardcopies as official records at town offices and the Cook Library. Becky Mason was identified as the town web manager; David Little will prepare whole-town color maps to differentiate road statuses. Committee notes estimate that printing formatted hardcopies could require fifty or more pages and that individuals requesting printed copies should be willing to pay the printing cost.
On a separate research item, David Little said he had located Eben Dow (Lot 103 in the 50-acre range) near Route 25 at Lord Hill Road. Chris Conrod presented an interpretation placing the historic route within the Thompson Natural Area and connecting it to the end of 1778-07-11-00 east of the Hackett mill site. Attendees accepted Conrod's interpretation and assigned Conrod to write the formal report on Eben Dow Road.
The committee set its next meeting for May 7, 2025. The meeting opened at 7:12 p.m. and adjourned at 8:38 p.m. The minutes were submitted by Chris Conrod, Road Committee Secretary.
