Tamworth committee advances indexing project, flags multiple historic road reports for update

The Tamworth Road Study Committee on March 19 moved forward on a record-indexing effort intended to reconcile town road reports with historic road-action spreadsheets and approved corrected minutes from its Feb. 5 meeting.
David Little, a committee member, presented the indexing work and said the effort "is in progress" and can be used to identify discrepancies between the online town records and the spreadsheets. Little told the committee he will send Chris Conrod a link so Conrod can copy file names for the town records.
The committee accepted the minutes of Feb. 5, 2025, with two spelling corrections and one correction clarifying that Dave Halpin did not discuss online publishing with Emily Nolan. That approval was recorded as part of routine business.
Members then reviewed reports submitted at the Feb. 5 meeting and flagged several roads for additions or for creation of discontinued-status reports. Specific items noted for follow-up included adding the 1836-06-08-00 layout to the Red Gate Path report; adding Chocorua Lake Road to the Class V and Discontinued reports; replacing a short-hand entry for Great Hill Road (1870-05-25-00) with a long-form entry; and preparing discontinued reports for older routings referenced by dates such as 1842-03-08-24 and 1909-03-09-11. Paul King said some items, including a 113A location, await a plan from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
The committee also compiled a longer list of action items and historic references that staff or volunteers should follow up on, including Brown Hill Road, Jackman Pond Road, Route 16 segments, Route 25 at Thompson Natural Area, Bunker Hill Road, and other numbered entries noted in the meeting record.
