The Surry selectmen approved routine administrative items at their July 29 meeting, including signing payroll and paying bills. The minutes record two building permits: #1681 for Glenn Davis of 46 Pond Rd. for rooftop solar, and #1682 for Christine Cornwall of 34 Joslin Rd. for an electrical upgrade; the Cornwall permit included receipt of check #12986 for $25. The minutes indicate the standard $25 fee is due for the Davis permit as well.
Selectman Jay Croteau moved to accept the July 25 Pond Road meeting minutes and, later, to accept the July 22 minutes as amended to correct the month of Ron Profaizer’s absence and to note Profaizer will respond to Community Power before November 2024; both motions were seconded and the selectmen agreed to accept the minutes. The selectmen also signed conditional‑use applications for Mark Gross for recording at the Registry of Deeds and agreed to refund Robert Fuederer $66 for an overpayment of registration.
Other administrative items recorded in the minutes include: septic approval for 180 Pond Rd (town garage); completed appointment forms given to the town clerk for sworn witnesses/appointees; a report that the town system is backed up nightly; no state reply yet on form MS‑60 with Denis Dragon listed as the current auditor; and a Primix request to include the town in liability budgeting. The selectmen referred emails from Tree Agents LLC to Planning Board member Laura Barret, who advised the company to appear at the Planning Board meeting on Aug. 28, 2024 with full plans because the submitted application was incorrect and rejected.
Selectman Steve Goldsmith moved to adjourn and Selectman Jay Croteau seconded; the selectmen agreed and the meeting adjourned at 7:00 P.M.
