Yakima School District recognizes student graduates and credits trainers after on‑site cardiac rescue

Green read an email from a family whose husband suffered a heart attack at the meet and thanked on‑site responders, EMTs and athletic trainers for lifesaving CPR and use of a defibrillator. The superintendent said the district plans to formally recognize the athletic trainer involved later this year.
Board members thanked staff and families for their work and support; no formal action was required for the recognitions.
