Staff said they budgeted $17,500 for the retrofit and plan to have in-house wastewater staff perform the installation; the supplier estimated a 10–12 week lead time for the part.
A councilmember moved to authorize the purchase of the retrofit parts and the motion was seconded; several members recorded their votes and the authorization was approved. Staff emphasized this purchase was for a retrofit seal, not a full pump replacement, and that the work would be performed by city staff to avoid additional installation labor costs.
Next steps: Staff will place the order with Van de Venter Engineering, track delivery given the stated lead time, and schedule installation by wastewater staff upon receipt.
