Canton council approves quit-claim of five feet on Mitson lot to adjacent owners

Mayor Kristy Ziegler said residents had suggested placing a gazebo or a welcome feature on the Mitson lot. Clerk Anne Koliha told the council a survey shows the south property line conflicts with a neighboring building and recommended resolving boundaries by quit-claim deed. Council member Jason Magnuson moved to quit-claim the five feet; council member George Hafner seconded and the motion carried.
The minutes record no further actions regarding development of the lot at the meeting. The council’s approval resolves the immediate boundary issue but does not record any plan to place a gazebo or other improvements on the property.
