Canton ends LTD tower lease, moves to Acentek for sewer-plant internet

Clerk Anne Koliha told the council the tower lease with LTD Broadband will expire this year and that LTD’s internet connection at the sewer plant has been unreliable. Public Works Director Jon Nordsving said he would like LTD’s equipment removed from the water tower. The council voted to terminate the tower lease and to obtain internet service for the sewer plant from Acentek, which already has fiber to the property.
The minutes reflect a single motion by Jason Magnuson, seconded by Jeremy Hanson, to terminate the LTD tower lease and to contract with Acentek for sewer-plant internet service; the motion carried.
