Troy Selectmen approve salaried-employee policy and 2026 IT contract; .GOV migration analysis to proceed

At their Dec. 4 meeting, the Troy Selectmen approved a Salaried Employee Policy as submitted, with the option to revisit the policy if Town Counsel recommends changes. Town Administrator Jeremy Bourgeois said he had sent the draft to counsel and had informally consulted another town’s HR director; the board approved the policy by a 3-0-0 vote.
The board also reviewed and approved the 2026 agreement with WorldWide Computer Services, the town’s IT provider, by a 3-0-0 vote.
Bourgeois told the board he is pursuing grant opportunities with the Overwatch Foundation and WorldWide Computer Services to migrate the town and police department to a .GOV domain to improve cybersecurity. He said an infrastructure analysis is under way and that any incremental costs will be reported once the analysis is complete.
Other administrative items the board approved or acted on included adopting a tax payment plan form drafted by Deputy Town Clerk Amanda Norcross and approving transfers of paid sick time (24 hours) from Police Chief Dave Ellis to Officer Aaron Chancey to allow the officer time to prepare for an upcoming physical agility test. Several routine payroll and accounts-payable warrants and meeting minutes were also approved under the consent agenda.
