The Troy Select Board voted unanimously Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, to hire J.H. as a part-time administrative assistant in the Police Department at $16.00 per hour and to remove M.W. from all appointed town positions during a non-public session held under RSA 91-A:3, II (A), (B), (C) and (L).
Police Chief Dave Ellis asked the board for permission to fill the department’s vacant part-time administrative assistant slot and said he had identified a candidate, recorded in the minutes as J.H. Selectman Richard H. Thackston III moved to hire the candidate; Selectman TJ Chasse seconded the motion, which the minutes record as passing 3-0-0.
Chief Ellis also raised the vacant animal control officer post and proposed M.W. for the role; the board declined that appointment. Later in the non-public session, Selectman TJ Chasse moved to remove M.W. from all appointed Town positions. Selectman Thackston seconded that motion, and the minutes record the vote as 3-0-0 in favor of removal.
The board entered the non-public session at 7:56 p.m. on a motion under RSA 91-A:3, II (A), (B), (C) & (L), moved by Selectman Thackston and seconded by Selectman Chasse; the minutes record a roll-call vote of Hopkins, Yes; Thackston, Yes; Chasse, Yes. The board exited non-public session at 9:07 p.m. on a similarly recorded motion and adjourned at 9:08 p.m.
