Board confirms two appointments and authorizes legal instruction after executive session

The board approved the appointment of James Palacio as director of career and technical education for the 2026-27 school year (grade level 14) and appointed Yasmin Silva as interim assistant principal at Apollo Middle School for 2026-27 (grade level 4). Both appointments were confirmed by roll call.
The board also voted to approve the instruction given to legal counsel during executive session. District leaders noted the motions followed discussion in executive session; the board recorded the votes by roll call and the motions passed.
The district took photographs and facilitated recognition after the appointments before returning to executive session and concluding the meeting with an adjournment.
