Sugar Hill selectmen sign 2025 warrant and MS636 budget, appoint conservation commission alternate

At their Feb. 24 meeting, Sugar Hill selectmen signed the 2025 Town Meeting warrant and MS636 town budget, approved an assessing contract, and unanimously appointed Hayley Droppert as an alternate to the Sugar Hill Conservation Commission.
Committee member Chris Ellms moved to approve the Feb. 10, 2025 meeting minutes and the board voted to adopt them. The board then signed the 2025 Town Meeting warrant and the townMS636 budget; the documents were posted at the Meetinghouse, with the Town Clerk and at the Crapo Building and will appear in the next town newsletter and on the website.
Town Administrator Jennifer Gaudette told the board that longtime Town Attorney Christine Johnson has retired from practice and that Shawn Tanguay will now handle town legal matters. The board also signed the townassessing contract for 2025, which covers new-construction pickups, current-use tax changes and abatements.
Chris Ellms moved to appoint Hayley Droppert as an alternate to the Sugar Hill Conservation Commission; Margo Connors seconded and the motion passed unanimously. With no further business, Ellms moved to adjourn; the meeting ended at 6:00 p.m. The selectmen noted the meeting was followed by a public hearing of the Sugar Hill Conservation Commission and scheduled their next regular meeting for March 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Crapo Building.
