At the Oct. 21 meeting, Vanessa Toner reported that the town received federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) approval for Back Street River Park. Toner said the board passed a resolution, recorded in the minutes as a 3-0 vote, allowing Town Administrator Suzanne Goulet to sign the documentation necessary to secure the grant.
Toner also presented quotes for a new railing on the lower stairs of the park and said the selectboard agreed on galvanized material that will be painted to match the appearance of the renovated Grange building. The minutes note a Weir Bros invoice for concrete work on the stairs totaling $11,564.96; an earlier estimate had been $7,500 and the concrete was billed separately.
Toner reported there have been no applications for the road agent vacancy and suggested the town consider changing the role from an employee to a contractor; the board motioned to table that discussion until the next meeting. The minutes also record that resident Laney moved vehicles on his property, so the town will not send a letter on that matter.
The board did not adopt further procurement decisions at the meeting; the immediate recorded outcomes were authorization for grant paperwork and the selection of galvanized railing for subsequent procurement steps.
