At a regular meeting, the Solon City Council opened a series of public hearings on proposed updates to the city master plan and several zoning changes. The council read ordinances and opened hearings on a master plan update (Ordinance 202699), zoning-district amendments (Ordinance 2026101), a proposal to remove the ward veto and adjust zoning-use rules (Ordinance 2026102), and a proposal for industrial-core zoning changes (Ordinance 2026103).
The clerk read the ordinance captions and the chair invited public comment on each item; no members of the public came forward on those agenda items and, in each case, the council left the public hearings open and left the ordinances on first reading to allow additional input at later meetings. The chair noted the plan is scheduled for three readings and encouraged residents to review the proposals and attend subsequent hearings.
The council did not take final votes on these ordinances during the meeting; each matter remains on first reading and the public hearings will be carried forward to future council meetings.
