Slinger board hears tree-planting update and recreation programs as it discusses 2026 park rental fees

Parks Supervisor Josh Feller told the board Oct. 6 that crews plan to plant three to four additional trees this fall and a larger number of trees in the spring. The board also discussed a sidewalk issue that is partially blocking pedestrian access; the minutes record only that some discussion took place on that matter.
Director Tony Dobson read a recreation report prepared by Supervisor Van Maanen, saying the village wrapped up its flag football season and that the first fall pom and dance session reached capacity with 84 girls. Dobson noted upcoming events: Slinger Trails and Cheers at Community Park on Oct. 11 from 4:00 to 7:00, and Trails of Treats at Breuer Park on Oct. 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Dobson said toddler playtime is scheduled for the coming Thursday and that fall tumbling and expanded cooking classes are beginning soon.
On park rental fees the board held a substantial discussion about adjustments for 2026; Dobson said he will update the park rental form and bring recommended fee changes to the Nov. 3, 2025 meeting for approval. The meeting adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
