RDA hears updates on 119 Kettle Moraine project, creamery property and museum expansion

At its Oct. 1 meeting the Slinger Redevelopment Authority received several project updates from Village Administrator Margaret Wilber, including progress on a downtown redevelopment parcel, an enforcement deferment for a former creamery, and museum expansion activity.
Wilber said the developer for 119 Kettle Moraine Drive South is finalizing engineering plans and should be ready to execute the final agreement documents within the next week or two. The RDA discussed how those incentives tied to the project may be supported through TID funds, an item Wilber addressed later in the budget discussion.
Regarding the former creamery at 100 Storck Street, Wilber said the property owner and her attorney contacted the Village Attorney to ask that a motion hearing scheduled for Oct. 2 be adjourned. Wilber told the RDA the Village agreed to the deferment because the owner is completing asbestos removal and has submitted a raze‑permit application; RDA members voiced concern about prolonging the process.
Wilber also informed the authority that the Slinger Historical Museum group is finalizing plans for an expansion and expects to be ready for Planning Commission review in December. She added that the museum’s rail‑viewing platform is currently under construction.
The RDA requested that staff continue to provide status reports on the Carriage House reopening and the Police Department building project on Enterprise Drive, noting the authority’s role in accomplishing those projects. No formal actions were taken in these updates beyond the deferred creamery hearing and the informational updates recorded in the minutes.
