Vice Chair Heath Partington moved to support the Local Energy Committee’s recommendation, contingent on the rate being less than the Eversource rate and authorizing Town Administrator Michael Branley or his designee to sign; Bruce Breton seconded the motion. The board approved the motion 4-0. DJ Withee noted the town’s facility rates had been lower under a prior contract.
The authorization lets the town execute a short-term contract to lock in competitive energy pricing for residents if the vendor price proves favorable to the default utility rate. The minutes record no executed contract at the meeting; final signature and vendor selection are contingent on the negotiated rate meeting the board’s condition.
