Planning Commission introduces new zoning ordinance; vice chair elected

Council member Lee Adams reported May 11 on the Planning Commission’s May 6 meeting: the commission approved one application (pending historic approval), elected Susan Trentham as vice chair, and introduced a new Zoning Ordinance that the minutes say will repeal and replace the town’s Comprehensive Development Ordinance. Zoning Administrator Rob Bernstine approved five administrative applications this month — three fence installations, a rear porch enclosure and a siding replacement.
Adams noted the commission also approved an annual letter to the Maryland Department of Planning. The application that received conditional approval remains subject to historic-review requirements before final clearance.
