Chesapeake City Council voted May 13 to adopt the town's budget for the fiscal year running July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, and to set the real property tax rate.
Lee Adams moved to approve Ordinance 2024-001 adopting the FY2025 budget; Sarah Ford-Ferrara seconded the motion and the minutes record that "all in favor, motion carried." The Council also approved Resolution 2024-001 establishing the real property tax rate after the Budget Committee determined the rate.
